Welcome to the Principal's Corner!

Welcome to Garcia’s Principal’s Corner!
Here you will find information on dates of upcoming events, school policies, and academics. Garcia is a dual language academy and is in its 4th year, where our students learn in two languages in grades K-4. We follow the enriched (GT) Gomez and Gomez model which allows students to become bilingual, biliterate and bicultural in K-2 and a modified program in grades third and fourth.  Medical Terminology curriculum will be folded into our language education and will prepare our students on a pathway to career and college readiness. Please remember the following things that will help us:
  • The First Bell rings at 7:35am and all students are in class by 7:45am. After 7:45am, students will be counted as tardy.
  • We will need to know by 2:45pm if any changes will be made on transportation. For the safety of your child, there will be no exceptions after 2:45pm.
  • Please follow the drop off and pick up procedures. These guidelines are posted below.
  • If you have a change of address, please see the school secretary to make the change in our system.
Please come and enjoy lunch with your child. Just remember, that when the teacher picks up their class, your child will need to join them.
Looking forward to another great Gator year at Garcia!!!!!
Please stop by the office if you have any questions.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

I am really looking forward to seeing you all this week as we start our school year. I would like to share some information with you to help make arrival and dismissal run smoothly.   See the traffic map and directions below.  This should help avoid traffic jams and keep the flow of cars moving. Thank you for taking a moment to read and follow the directions.

At Hector P. Garcia we use CHAMPS, this is an effective management program that helps all of our students be successful. Please read below for an explanation.

We are going to have a wonderful year! Go Gators!
