Principal's Welcome

Dear Hector P. Garcia Elementary School Staff, Students and Families,

Welcome to Hector P. Garcia Elementary, a National Recognized Professional Learning Community. We are one of nineteen Model PLC schools in the State of Texas and one of 225 in the country and received this recognition due to our exemplary achievement.

Garcia is an extraordinary learning community. As a Professional Learning Community, our teachers and staff work collaboratively in collective inquiry and action research to achieve better results for the our students at Garcia. We have made a commitment to focus on high levels of learning for all students. Our staff works to foster meaningful relationships with each and every family member as well as building partnerships with our community.

My personal belief is that as the school principal I will do “whatever it takes” in my power to help create a safe and nurturing learning environment that fosters the gifts and talents of each student. It is also my duty to provide every possible resource to our staff in order for our students to meet high standards of performance in academics while demonstrating exceptional character. As a mother, I understand how important an exemplary education is for our children. I will do my best to provide the students at Garcia with the best education possible.

It is an honor and pleasure to have the privilege to be part of Temple ISD and to serve as your school principal. I look forward to working alongside you and proud to be a “Gifted Gator.”
